I’m so excited to announce the premier of our family’s pilot episode, Mom and Me on HGTV!A few days ago I posted a little of our family’s background on social media, but I wanted to share it on the blog too, for those friends who don’t partake in that sort of thing. This is what I shared….
The mountains were calling and we had to go. We were 2 Pennsylvania kids, 20 and 24, with a new baby, no formal education, and dreams of living out west. Our hearts and aspirations were bigger than our fears of leaving our comfortable surroundings and family behind on the east coast, to start a new life, in a new place, with possibilities that we couldn’t yet comprehend. We moved 22 times in the last 22 years. Life has had many twists and turns and I have to say, when we moved to Bend, Oregon 17 years ago, everything changed. All the pieces just came together. We showed up in our Subaru wagon with our 3 year old son, a baby on the way, and all of our belongings crammed into the roofbox on our car. We knew this would be our home. We came with the dream of settling down into this beautiful mountain town where we could raise our family, buy our first house and make a living in real estate. We lived in a tent for 2 months, determined to find a house that we could afford and would be a good investment to get us started on what we had envisioned would be our route to financial stability. I want to be honest… we were struggling! Starting out was tough! It ended up taking us two years before we bought our first family home. Now, 17 years, 3 kids, many remodels, a handful of flip houses, and a couple of custom homes later, we have a home renovation pilot on HGTV! Feeling blessed about the journey that has brought us to this place.

I really hope you enjoy the show… I know it’s just a 30 minute episode, but it definitely feels like a huge accomplishment! I’m still pinching myself that this in our reality! This has been a work in progress for almost 2 years already and we weren’t sure if it would even make it to air! We’re beyond excited that it is, though!! Please join us, this Sunday for the premier! The hope is, that if it rates well, we may get offered a series!! Chances are slim, but then again, it feels like a miracle that we’ve made it this far!
Thank you so much for all of your love and support! I appreciate it more than you know!
