One Room Challenge… Week 6…

One Room Challenge… Week 6…featured

Hi Again!

So the time is up for the One Room Challenge that was put together over at Calling It Home.  It was fun to have the inspiration from the other home decorators and designers while transforming my own room in 6 weeks.  It was just the motivation I needed to get cracking on decorating our master bedroom.  I jumped in late to the event, so I think that I actually accomplished a LOT in the last few weeks even though I didn’t completely finish.

Here is a reminder of what our bedroom looked like 3 weeks ago.

Here is what it looks like now.

Ok, so… This is what I’ve accomplished.

I painted the wall behind our bed, with Sherwin Williams color Iron Gate.

I built 2 nightstands

and made this little shelf.

(Those prints on the wooden shelf are by contemporary batik artist Lisa Telling Kattenbraker.  She is amazing!  Please check out her art here.  You’ll be blown away by her skill and the process that she uses to create!)

I made a slip cover for my headboard.

I painted the reading lamps from Lowe’s.

I made a leather cushion and armrests for this wire chair with leather from the Leather Hide Store.

I sewed pillow covers.

Three euro shams and the deer head pillow cover.

I made fun tassels for the euro sham.

I built this valance and made a roman shade for the window.

I bought this gorgeous water color on canvas painting from a local artist, Ciera Rose.  You can check out her Etsy store here.  She is awesome!  I am in LOVE with this Bison!IMG_0958

The hubby helped me by hanging the TV and assisting me with the valance…  I am terrible at hanging things! I’m so grateful for his help and strong muscles!  He also helped me make the curtain rod over the huge window wider.

The manzanita is from my yard… If you live close by and want some, come and get it!  We’ve got almost 23 acres of manzanita!

Ok, so that’s about it!  Really the only thing that I NEED to do still is make a roman shade for the big window.  Roman shades take quiet a bit of time and effort to make.   Sadly, I just couldn’t pull it off.  I probably need to hem the big linen curtain, too.

Anyway, I’m really happy with the way the room turned out.  I feel like I finally have an adult bedroom! 😉
