Interior Design... Industrial Modern Loft Preview

David 2.jpg

Hey friends!! I've been busy living inside my creative brain for the last few weeks and I thought it'd be fun to share a quick update and get your advice on one of my latest projects. It's kind of a fun one for me as it's different than my (semi)normal job of fixing up tired old houses and businesses.  I was hired to furnish and decorate a 1 bedroom, 1 bath, newly remodeled industrial loft apartment for a pretty dreamy client.  This is why my client is dreamy; he trusts me, doesn't make me come up with a budget, doesn't micromanage me, and gives me free reign on design decisions.  Now, I don't want to mislead anyone, there are some parameters, but they are loose.  Basically, dreamy client only comes to town once a month or so.  He doesn't want fancy or expensive furniture, and he isn't going to live in the space full time so it doesn't need to have every creature comfort of a primary home.  That being said though, he doesn't want a dumpy bachelor pad and he hopes to be able to share this space with other people on occasion.

Here are a few photos to give you an idea of what I have to work with.

This is the entry.

The bathroom.

The kitchen.

View into dining and living area from the kitchen.

This is the basic floor plan.

So as you can see, it's pretty industrial modern.  Concrete floors, beautiful wood ceilings, exposed pipes and ducting.

So far, I have really only come up with a plan for the living and dining room.  Some of these items have already been purchased, but I'm still teetering on whether I want to go with More color (top) or Less color (bottom).

Just curious, which plan do you like better?  Leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

More Color

Less Color

Thanks for checking it out!

Now... I'm off to get distracted from this project and get some end of the year book keeping done that I can't put off any longer!
