One Room Challenge... Week 5.
Hi there! It's week 5 of the 6 week One Room Challenge.... Do you know what that means? Simple math here... I have 1 short week left to wrap up my master bedroom makeover. Here's a sneak peek into what I've done so far.
I reupholstered the headboard, did a little tweaking of the lamp with gold spray paint, and painted the wall behind the bed.
I finished building the nightstands. Post on those coming up soon.
Here is a little glimpse of the TV wall.
So, here is what I still have to figure out...
Window coverings! With two huge windows and my desire for black out sleeping conditions, how am I going to tackle this to be aesthetically pleasing, functional, and doesn't break the bank. Even with me making the window treatments myself, fabric, lining and hardware can add up quickly! Not to mention the time that it will take me to make them and I only have 1 weekend to do it. You see, I've been pretty slammed with work so my only chance to get 'er done is on the weekend.
Remember this cute corner couch thing?
Well, it doesn't fit in the corner of the bedroom anymore with the new dresser. So I had to relocate it to land of mismatched, random furniture in which I call my kids bonus room. (Maybe I'll take that challenge on for the next One Room Challenge in the spring!)
Anyway, I substituted this chair for the couch. It's a little Craigslist score that I picked up last spring.
Only thing is... It needs a cushion.
I bought leather for it a few weeks ago. Looks like I better get crackin' on that too if I want to get it finished by next week!
And, last but not least... Decorating! Eek gad! The word makes my heart pitter patter. Tell me to reupholster something or bust out the power tools and I'm there... But, the mention of decorating stresses me out!
To sum up my "to do" list; the pressing issues seem to be.
1. Window Coverings
2. Chair Cushions
3. Wall Decor
4. Bed Styling (pillows, etc)
Well folks, I best be on my way to get something done 'round here...
